D.Pharm

The Diploma in Pharmacy program, commonly referred to as D Pharm in India, is a two-year course designed to provide education and training to students aspiring to become pharmacists. Obtaining a D Pharm qualification is the minimum requirement for registration as a pharmacist in India.
Course Duration
The D Pharm program spans two academic years and is organized on a non-semester basis.

Admission Eligibility
Candidates who have successfully completed their Higher Secondary Examination (+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics as optional subjects or their equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to this program.

B.Pharm

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree program is a four-year course structured in accordance with the semester system, as per the regulations set by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Selection for admission to this program is based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination. Additionally, candidates who have successfully completed the Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other State-recognized board are eligible for admission.

B.Pharm (Lateral Entry)

The Bachelor of Pharmacy Lateral Entry degree program is a three-year course structured in accordance with the semester system, as per the regulations set by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Selection for admission to this program is based on the marks obtained in the 50% Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other State-recognized board are eligible for admission.
Course Duration
The B. Pharm lateral entry program spans three academic years, organized into six semesters.

Admission Eligibility
Candidates who have successfully completed the Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the Board of Examinations of the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other State-recognized board, equivalent to the standards set by the university's authority, are also eligible for admission.

Pharm.D

The Doctor of Pharmacy program, commonly known as Pharm. D, is a globally recognized pharmacy program with a strong focus on hospital-based practice. This program was introduced in the year 2010 and has a duration of six years following the completion of the 10+2 education with a science stream. It is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India, with an annual intake of 30 students.
The Pharm. D program is structured to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet global healthcare demands, particularly in managing patient medication therapy and enhancing patient outcomes. Students develop clinical expertise to handle patients with various chronic or acute illnesses, collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver cost-effective care, identify and rectify drug-related issues, and educate patients and their families on the correct usage of medications. During the final year (6th year), students are required to undertake a one-year internship/residency in various major departments of a specialty teaching hospital.
Admission Eligibility
To be eligible for admission to the Pharm. D program, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Passed the +2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
Completed the D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Possess any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above-mentioned examinations.

Course Duration
The Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) Post-Graduate Degree program has a duration of two years, commencing from the beginning of the academic calendar.

Admission Eligibility
Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the M.Pharmacy Post-Graduate Degree course must have successfully completed the B.Pharmacy Degree program offered by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University or any other university recognized as equivalent by the Medical University authorities.

Course of Study
The M. Pharmacy Post-Graduate degree course comprises a certified study and training period of two academic years. No exemptions are granted from this period of study and training, irrespective of any prior experience gained before enrolling in the course.
